Lady Lake in Harbour Grace has been alive the past couple of months with crews preparing for the Regatta. Now, it’s time to play for keeps.
The boats take to the pond Saturday – weather permitting – with Sunday being the makeup day.
Elizabeth Baker, President of the Regatta Committee, says they’ll have about 15 crews, most of them female.
She says the parking lot at the Regatta grounds has been full every night from suppertime to dusk. All four boats have been in use every night which she says is great to see.
The championship races are slated for late afternoon.
The Royal St. John’s Regatta is set for next Wednesday at Quidi Vidi.
