Rogers TV St. John’s says a member of the broadcast team for Out of the Fog, its flagship program, will not be appearing on air for the time-being.

Don E Coady came under fire from many, including the Royal St. John’s Regatta, for comments made during the broadcast drawing into question the physical makeup of a coxswain. He said if he were a rower, he would find the tiniest little coxswain, and lock them in the basement for three weeks with no food before they got into the boat.

Coady said he did not see the coxswain in question in the U-16 girls’ race, and that the reference was a general one referring to the overall weight of the crew in any boat on the pond.

Rogers TV says Coady is a volunteer with them.
