Air Canada and the union representing its flight attendants have reached a tentative agreement, putting an end to a strike which began on Saturday.
The two sides returned to the bargaining table last night with the help of a mediator.
The airline’s 10,000 flight attendants walked off the job on Saturday, leaving tens of thousands of travellers scrambling during the busy summer season.
Federal jobs minister Patty Hajdu directed the Canada Industrial Relations Board to order striking workers back to work and send both sides to binding arbitration – something that was defied by the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flights will gradually begin resuming service today.
