A local sports store says Toronto Blue Jays merch is selling like hotcakes thanks to the team having the best season in recent memory.
Andrew Corbett of Maverick Sports and Collectables on Water Street says when the Jays started racking up the wins, jerseys and hats began flying off the shelves.
Not only are more people buying swag, but he’s noticed more people dropping into the store before heading off to Toronto to take in a few games.
With the Jays having punched their ticket to the postseason, Corbett says they’re already getting inquiries about playoff gear.
He says the generic ‘October Baseball’ shirts are in stock and they will be putting more on the shelf as the postseason carries on. AL East Championship t-shirts will hit the floor if the Jays can fend off the New York Yankees for the top spot.
The Blue Jays are tied with the Yankees for the top spot in the AL East.
