The re-elected Liberal MHA for Harbour Grace-Port de Grave believes the MOU was the undoing of the Liberal government.
Pam Parsons says she and her colleagues have to adjust to an opposition role, and she points to the MOU, cost of living and health care concerns as some of the reasons why the Liberals lost.
“People wanted more information and were concerned about the MOU process…health care is huge…and cost of living…a lot of people are hurting, a lot of people are struggling.”
Parsons reacted angrily to the PCs who, while in Opposition, refused to vote on the MOU in the House of Assembly.
“What was disappointing,” Parsons told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly, “as an MHA, to see that Tony Wakeham got up and walked out of the House of Assembly when it was time to take a stand to vote. He and his caucus, they left the building. Literally, they did not take a stand, whether they agreed with it, whether they didn’t agree with it…they got up, they left. So every constituent represented by MHAs who walked out of the house that day did not have a voice.”
She thanked the voters of Harbour Grace-Port de Grave for their support.
