The Janeway Children’s Hospital celebrated a special milestone this week.
The hospital unveiled the 500th Smilezone in Canada—a space designed to bring comfort and joy to children receiving medical care.
The newly renovated Occupational Therapy Department was made possible through a donation from members of the Dillabough family.
Allan Dillabough says he wanted to make a donation after his child spent some time at the Janeway Hospital.
“I’ve had a child that spent some time in the hospitals and I know how important it is to have color in life and so it’s personal to us,” he told VOCM News.
“I’ve heard stories from the parents and I’ve also heard from the physiotherapists and the nurses and doctors and they just tell us how much the kids enjoy it and get our goal of having a smile on their face.”
