The most prestigious prize in all of hockey will be in St. John’s later this week.

The Stanley Cup will be at the Tim Hortons in Galway between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.

The location earned the special visit by selling the most hockey cards in all of Canada during last year’s trading nights.

District manager Nicole Hall says they didn’t even know it was a contest until they received an email over the summer saying they had won.

Hall says they are hoping for a big crowd, noting that their staff are excited for the day.

She says she has one staff member who is a “huge” hockey fan, and gets told that he looks like Auston Matthews “all the time.” Hall says they can’t wait to get a picture of him next to the cup.
