Parts of the island are in for a soaking this week as Mother Nature obliges a land that has been starved for rain this past six months.
Devon Copp, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, says there will be some development in that regard tomorrow night, but the rain will pick up throughout the day on Friday.
Copp says the southern Avalon could be in for a significant rainfall.
Fifty to 100 mm is possible for the southern section, and 20-30 mm for the northern Avalon, including the metro region.
