The Toronto Blue Jays are leading the World Series 3 games to 2 as they return to the Rogers Centre tonight for game 6, but tonight’s outcome is anything but certain.
The Jays are facing what’s proven to be their most daunting Dodgers opponent to-date, starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Yamamoto pitched all of game 3, leading the Dodgers to a decisive 5-1 victory.
The good news, says morning show host at Stingray sister station Boom 97.3 in Toronto Stu Jeffries, is that the Blue Jays have seen Yamamoto and can make those adjustments needed to wrap the series up tonight.
He’s hoping the Jays can clinch in 6 like they did in ’92 and ’93. “We have seen Yamamoto…and he’s shown us his entire repertoire…is that going to help? Maybe just a little bit, and we might be able to get back at this guy, but one way or another, we’re in for an exciting finish, either 6 or 7. If it does go 7, this country’s going to lose its mind.”
