A man who was the subject of several theft investigations by the RCMP was arrested in Carbonear on Tuesday.
RCMP were called to reports of an unwanted person at a business on Columbus Drive Tuesday afternoon.
They say a store employee identified a man who tried, unsuccessfully, to leave the store with unpaid merchandise.
The suspect, 40-year-old Clouston Deering, was arrested on Powell Drive a short time later. He was the subject at the time of other investigations of similar incidents.
Deering appeared in court yesterday on seven counts of theft under $5,000, and two counts of failure to comply with an undertaking.
