Canada got off to a good start at the World Junior Hockey Championship in Minnesota but it was close all the way. They beat Czechia 7-5, breaking a 4-4 deadlock with a goal just past the 6-minute mark.
Canada plays Latvia tonight at 6:00 NST. Latvia stunned Canada in last year’s tournament with an overtime win to prevent any chance of a trip to the medal podium.
The United States defeated Germany 6-3 last night. The defending champs take on Switzerland tonight at 7:30.
