The City of Mount Pearl expects to release its five-year community safety plan early in the new year.
The city allotted $200,000 for it in its 2026 budget.
Mayor Dave Aker says a draft of the plan has been reviewed and council is ready to start rolling it out.
He says the city will be focusing on things like municipal enforcement, park patrol, consulting with the RNC, and educating people in school about the issue.
Aker hopes that the plan will be released sometime in January.
