It appears as though the weather gods will favour those who are looking to get out and ring in the New Year.
Currently, forecasts predict clearing for most through the evening.
Ian Hubbard with Environment Canada says the west coast will get some of the strongest winds at near 50 km/h, while parts of metro are expecting gusts between 30 and 40 km/h.
But conditions will be dry otherwise.
“By the time Wednesday rolls around, we’re actually looking at temperatures being sort of around the freezing mark. Maybe a couple degrees below zero or even a couple degrees above zero depending on which parts of the island,” he told VOCM News.
“For eastern areas it does look like it’s going to be above freezing there with a chance of showers during the day and then it’ll slightly cool off as we get into the evening when all the festivities are happening.”
