An anticipated surplus from the Canada Summer Games will help to fund some significant changes at the Glacier in Mount Pearl.
Mayor Dave Aker says while the final figure is not yet known, whatever money is left over from co-hosting last summer’s games will be used to fund renovations that will convert the Glacier to a para-hockey facility.
He says that will include changes to the boards and the benches “to allow sledge hockey players to use the facility, much like they do already in the town of Paradise.”
