With up to 30 mm of rain possible in the forecast for this evening and overnight, the capital city is doing what it can to prevent possible flooding.
Rain and snow melt could result in water buildup and councillor Greg Noseworthy is encouraging those who can to clear storm drains.
For those who can’t, contact 311 and Noseworthy says a crew will be dispatched to assess and clear catch basins.
“If you see a catch basin that is a little bit covered with snow and ice, you can call in to the city…and notify staff. They’ll be able to come, check it out, make sure that it’s working, that it’s cleared, and that will help reduce any chance of localized flooding.”
