A group of snowplow operators in this province are coming together to help cancer patients clear their driveways.
Rookie snowplow operator Mark Baker started the Snow Clearing for Cancer initiative along with some fellow operators as a way to give back to the community.
Baker says they are providing free bookings to cancer patients to help ease the strain during the winter months.
“Cancer patients will be matched with snow clearing operators who are donating their services for free,” he told the Tim Powers Show this week.
“If you’re a cancer patient that’s post-surgery, getting treatment or hospice, there are operators donating their services for free. We’ll match you with someone who’ll come along and during a really hard time in your life, just try to ease one little burden on your behalf to make it a little easier.”
Whether you’re a cancer patient who needs help with snow clearing, or you’re looking to volunteer, you can now connect through the new website, Snow Clearing for Cancer.
