A run-in between a group of teens and a Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s man this time last year will likely be resolved without a trial.
Forty-seven-year-old Aaron Manuel was charged wth uttering death threats and kidnapping after the incident on January 3rd of last year.
He also faces five counts each of assault with a weapon, pointing and discharging a firearm, and robbery.
No one was injured during what was described as “an interaction” by police, nor did they say where it happened.
In court this morning Manuel’s lawyer said talks are ongoing toward resolving the case without a trial, suggesting a plea bargain may be in the works.
The case will next be called on February 2nd when it’s expected formal pleas will be entered to the charges.
