The city of St. John’s has removed two positions as part of what it calls “restructuring” within the Public Works Department.
The supervisor of waste diversion position has been removed, while the director of environmental services has been moved to Roads, Parks and Fleet.
The city says the reorganization does not change the department’s total number of staff, but shifts resources where they are needed.
The city manager retired earlier this month after going on leave for reasons that have not been released publicly.
