Five people have been taken into custody after a situation that prompted a shelter-in-place order in Happy Valley-Goose Bay last night.
Residents in the area of Mesher Street were ordered to stay inside as RCMP searched for a man believed to be carrying a shotgun.
Police located the suspect at a home in the community about an hour later around 10:30 p.m.
Four other people were also taken into custody and the firearm was seized.
The investigation continues.
