The RCMP says investigations into reported property crimes in the Conception Bay North area continue and all efforts are being made to gather evidence to support criminal charges in the cases.
Residents have expressed increased frustration with a series of repeat break-ins and thefts that many believe are linked to a small number of well-known individuals.
Opposition justice critic Pam Parsons has even suggested forming an all-party committee to address the growing problem in the region.
RCMP say residents deserve to feel safe in their communities and they are continuing to work with provincial partners to address needs and find solutions to enhance public safety.
They’re asking any resident who sees or encounters criminal activity to make an official report to police.
In the meantime, RCMP say an arrest has been made in at least one recent residential break and enter case, and criminal charges are pending. They say they will continue to provide updates to those who have reported crimes and will share that information publicly when appropriate.
