A snowmobiler reported missing and overdue was located safe and sound Tuesday evening by members of the Postville Ground Search and Rescue.

RCMP in Makkovik were contacted Tuesday evening by the snowmobiler, who had been traveling from North West River to Natuashish and indicated that he had ran into trouble and was stuck in a remote location.

He provided his coordinates, and soon after his family reported him overdue.

Postville Ground Search and Rescue used the coordinates given and found the man around 10:15 that night in good health.

He was taken back to Postville none the worse for his ordeal. RCMP say the happy ending helps to highlight the importance of being prepared, carrying a reliable means of communication when travelling in the wilderness, and sharing travel plans with others.
