A 65-year-old man is facing weapons-related charges after RCMP responded to reports of a man carrying a firearm in Grand Falls-Windsor early yesterday morning.
Police were called around 6:30 yesterday morning after a man was seen on Poplar Road carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
Police contained the area and the suspect was located and arrested at a nearby home without incident.
A long-barreled air rifle was seized by officers.
RCMP say Terry Maloney is facing charges of careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The investigation continues and police are seeking witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the man in the Poplar Road area to give them a call.
