Hundreds of athletes and support staff representing Team Canada are in Italy for the 2026 Winter Olympics – and a physiotherapist originally from King’s Cove, Bonavista Bay is among them.
The opening ceremonies take place today.
Miriam Lewis, whose career has taken her across the country and around the world, is working with the Canadian speed skating team.
She calls the opportunity to work at the Olympics a “dream come true.”
“This is what I’ve worked a very long time for is to come to the Olympics to support our Canadian athletes. So it’s definitely a dream come true for me. So it’s pretty surreal being in the village and seeing all the athletes….The vibe around the village is really high. So it’s been a lot of fun so far.”
