The environment minister is dismissing any apparent similarities between messaging shared by the Premier’s Office and that of Donald Trump’s Republicans.
NDP Leader Jim Dinn this week shared two images; one posted by the House Republicans declaring Promises Made, Promises Kept on the first 100 days of the Trump administration in the United States.
The other was an image of a message shared by Premier Tony Wakeham showing an eerily similar graphic and message, right down to format features and the leader’s signature below.
Minister Chris Tibbs was questioned by Brian Callahan on VOCM Open Line about the similarities, and the concerns raised by the NDP’s Jim Dinn about whether the Premier’s Office is intentionally aligning itself with MAGA messaging.
“I seen it, it was a promise made, it was a promise kept and we are extremely proud of the promises kept so far” says Tibbs. “We can go down this road all day long” Tibbs responded when pressed, “the fact of the matter is, this government is not focused on a message that can be taken a different interpretation from different people.”
