A call received by police about a man walking with a gun in Paradise turned out to be unfounded.

RNC were called around noon indicating that someone was carrying a firearm on Byrnes Road off St. Thomas’ Line in Paradise.

Police dogs, a drone and numerous officers fanned out across the area over the lunch hour, but in the end the call turned out to be unfounded and no firearm was located.

An intensive police operation is underway in the St. Thomas’ Line area of Paradise.

RNC say there is no shelter in place, but callers to the VOCM Newsroom indicate that officers are on scene, some with guns drawn.
