The Executive Director of Cygnus Gymnastics says the community has really come together in the last few weeks as they figure out how to move forward after the Lake Avenue Dominion closes this spring.

The club has been in the building since 2007, but they were hit with a shocker last month when Loblaw announced the store will close in May.

Angela Parfrey says their Board of Directors has started a facility committee, and they have also been speaking with the province, the city of St. John’s, and Sport NL – have of which have been supportive of them.

Parfrey says they are exploring “every possibility.”

She says they are exploring the possibility of staying in their current space a little longer, and they are also looking at the possibility of finding a larger facility.
