A woman, who was under the influence, was placed under arrest after an incident in which her elderly mother was assaulted in a residence in the centre city area of St. John’s.
The incident unfolded at about midnight.
RNC say the 40-year-old suspect was causing issues at the house for her siblings as well.
Charged with common assault, she will appear in court today.
