The capital city has a new strategic heritage plan to help guide decisions on such matters for the next ten years.

Councillor Tom Davis, the lead on that component of city infrastructure, says heritage is more than about buildings. He says it reflects our history, culture, landscapes, and stories.

The plan, which was a couple of years in the making, has five goals including protecting and conserving built heritage.
