A man is facing firearms-related charges following an incident in Belleoram last Saturday.
Harbour Breton RCMP say Just after 1:30 a.m. officers in a parked police cruiser noticed a vehicle stopped nearby. When they went to speak with the driver, they say the 30-year-old man showed signs of impairment.
A later search of the vehicle turned up five unsecured firearms – for which he did not have a license – and some ammunition.
The accused will appear in court in May to answer to charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unsafe storage of firearms, and impaired.
The man’s driver’s license was suspended and vehicle impounded.
