The education minister is confident that teachers will be able to make up for time lost due to storm days this school season.
A stormy winter has resulted in nine snow days in the metro region so far this school year.
Minister Paul Dinn says right now, there are no plans to extend the school year to make up for lost time. He says any extension is dictated by the collective agreement with the NLTA.
“There’s only so many days that are covered off in a collective agreement for school. But right now, to this point, we’re of the understanding that the teachers are doing the best they can to maintain the curriculum and teaching plan.”
