The Minister of Justice says legislation is coming on a police oversight board.

There was no mention of such a board in this week’s budget, but Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer says government is committed to its creation.

“We will be introducing legislation in the fall sitting of the House which will address the police oversight board, and ensuring that we have an effective model in our province.” She told reporters prior to release of the budget that they are “focusing right now on legislative reform, and then we will look at financial investments and what is necessary then.”
