Former NHLer and Mount Pearl native Terry Ryan is flattered by the accolades the Canadian comedy series Shoresy is receiving.
Terry Ryan plays Ted “Hitch” Hitchcock, a defenseman for the fictional hockey team, the Bulldogs, and says he couldn’t believe it when he heard actors John Hamm and Amy Poehler praising the show.
He told VOCM Open Line with Brian Callahan that he never set out to become an actor, but he played in a few episodes of the Republic of Doyle. He says he can’t believe his good fortune.
He says, “I put in time there,” but “to end up with a regular role on a show is extremely rare. To end up with a regular role on a show that makes people happy…to think that it would even happen, it wasn’t even on the radar.”
