The mother of a young man who was badly beaten in a bloody attack in the Cowan Heights area of St. John’s two weeks ago is concerned that only three people have been charged.
Kayla Wiseman, whose 19-year-old son was whipped with chains and mercilessly set upon by several people, says she and her family feel like prisoners in their own home.
Her 11-year-old son, Brady Wiseman’s brother, has been excused from school for the rest of the year. She says he is too fearful to return.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy have been charged, but mom Kayla says a lot more people were involved in the attack on her son.
“We don’t go anywhere now unless we’re together,” says Wiseman. “I don’t want to go to the grocery store whereas I spoke out publicly. My family is definitely fearful.”
She decided to purchase a security system with cameras as added protection.
