The long-time president and CEO of the St. John’s Port Authority is retiring at the end of the month.
Sean Hanrahan will retire as of June 30th after 28 years in the role.
He says while there have been “many achievements,” 2025 saw the highest-ever revenue for the Port Authority, as well as “the complete elimination of all debt.”
Hanrahan, a former lawyer and city councilor, has served on numerous boards – including MUN’s Board of Regents.
The board of directors will soon begin the process of selecting a new CEO.
The current VP of development, Bob McCarthy, will assume the role on an interim basis starting July 1st.
