Tourism officials are continuing to work with car rental companies to ensure that enough inventory is available for visitors and residents alike.

Rental vehicle availability – especially in the busy summer months – has been a significant concern in the province for years and a key focus of Hospitality NL and the Department of Tourism.

The department says navigating rental car supply and demand is a “complicated issue” and visitors are being encouraged to book early.

Government says by booking early, rental companies will have the ability to forecast demand and move more vehicles around the province as needed.
