The NL Medical Association is among those voicing serious concern about a recent cybersecurity test offering health care staff a day off.
President of the NLMA Dr. David Metcalfe says physicians, health care professionals and health services staff across the province have worked tirelessly to support the implementation of CorCare, “often under significant stress.”
He says after months of intense effort, many were led to believe that their contributions were being genuinely recognized and appreciated.
He says to learn it was nothing more than a test left many feeling demoralized at a time when morale is already fragile.
Metcalfe says that approach reinforces the perception that their experiences and struggles are not being taken seriously, and erodes trust in the messages they receive related to CorCare.
