Summer will officially arrive in the Northern Hemisphere as of this Sunday, however it might not look that way outside.
The Summer Solstice arrives just before 6:00 Sunday morning Newfoundland time – marking the longest day of the year.
Environment Canada meteorologist Justin Boudreau says the change in season may not be reflected in the forecast.
He says it’ll be a steady diet of precipitation from this afternoon right up until Monday. That said, temperatures will be in the double digits for most and there may be a break in the rain for some on Saturday before a second helping moves in later that evening and overnight.
