Braya sees great potential in supplying local and international markets with biofuels now that it’s made its first sale of renewable diesel fuel on the Canadian market.
The company started commercial production of biofuels at the old Come By Chance oil refinery in early 2024.
Braya uses things like cooking oil, waste and animal fats that are treated under heat and pressure to create renewable, low-sulphur diesel.
Braya CEO Todd O’Malley says the company has been working with both the provincial and federal governments in building domestic markets.
“They’re helping us work towards that goal of ‘how do we further develop the domestic Canadian market and make it so that it is robust and economic for suppliers such as ourselves?’ to attain that goal of a net-zero economy.”
