A man who is still somewhat fleet of foot despite his advanced age did his best to elude police last night after somebody was assaulted at a residence in Mount Pearl.
RNC were called out to Mount Carson Avenue at about 7:00 but an 88-year-old man had already fled the scene.
Officers found him lying on the ground trying to hide.
He was placed under arrest, then taken to a hospital for medical clearance before police took him to his ultimate destination – the lockup.
He has been charged with two counts of assault.
