While many people are focused on summer vacations and stat holidays right now, Canadian Blood Services is reminding people that patient need doesn’t slow down over the summer.

The organization says donors of all blood types are needed throughout July, noting that many donor centres and mobile events are open on Canada Day.

They say only two per cent of eligible people donate regularly, and are encouraging people to book an appointment to ensure there is enough blood in the system for everyday care and unexpected emergencies.
