The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary issued 12 tickets, some to young people and their parents, following an ATV enforcement initiative in metro over the weekend.
The Constabulary patrolled on ATVs in parts of CBS, Paradise, Mount Pearl, the Goulds, Cochrane Pond, and Paddy’s Pond.

Most of the tickets issued were for driving on the roadway, and for operating without supervision. Parents were subsequently ticketed for allowing the vehicles to be operated unsupervised.
Fines range from $325 to $650.
Meanwhile, the RNC is reminding that electric dirt bikes are classified as off-road vehicles and are thus subject to the same fines and penalties.
