A man who was trying for a quick and cheap way to beat the heat in central Newfoundland might instead end up trying to beat the law.

Staff at the Walmart in Grand Falls-Windsor spotted somebody on surveillance footage Wednesday leaving the store with a portable air conditioner via the means of a five-finger discount.

Police are hot on his tail though as surveillance images are circulating showing that he has several tattoos and was wearing jeans and a red Adidas t-shirt. They’re hoping that a hot tip will help them lay their hands on the suspect.
