The old staff white house at HMP has been torn down, and it’s being described as the “end of an era” by those in the field of corrections.
The Facebook group Newfoundland and Labrador Corrections shared photos of the structure being torn down last week.
They say that to “generations of staff,” it was more than a building – it was a place where recruits trained, socialized, and built friendships.
They say it is “where correctional staff came together” and helped them form bonds that got them through the toughest days on the job.
