RCMP in Nova Scotia are investigating after violence broke out among a group of protestors during an event with Premier Tim Houston.
Houston was speaking to the Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce at Acadia University yesterday where he was met by a group of peaceful protestors outside.

In an address posted to social media last evening, Houston described what happened after the event as anything but civil.
“What happened after the event wasn’t peaceful – it was violence,” said Houston. “In trying to leave the venue my vehicle and my team’s vehicles were swarmed by rioters. They blocked us in, they were pushing law enforcement, climbed on top of the car I was in, pounding on the windows – and someone smashed the windshield of the vehicle while I was inside it.”
Houston was escorted back inside and left the event in an RCMP vehicle.
The investigation continues and so far no charges have been laid.
