Those visiting popular tourist destinations may have noticed a few more people speaking French this year.
The provincial government says the number of visitors from neighbouring Quebec has grown steadily over the years.
Last year the province saw a 25 per cent jump in the number of travelers from Quebec, equating to about 7,500 more visitors from that province.
The Department of Tourism says Quebec has been an important tourism market for this province for several years, with greater exposure through advertising, promotional activities and the Outdoor and Adventure Show in Montreal.

Meanwhile, overall visitation to the province is up 24 per cent compared to the same period last year, thanks to a six per cent increase in the number of people coming here during the spring shoulder season.
Twelve-thousand-four hundred more visitors came to Newfoundland and Labrador from January to April of this year compared to the same period last year – primarily interested in the province’s iconic icebergs.
