The justice minister is travelling in Labrador today, touring RCMP detachments in the region.
Minister Helen Conway Ottenheimer is visiting detachments along the coast and in Happy Valley-Goose Bay along with RCMP Commanding Officer Assistant Commissioner Pat Cahill, at the invitation of the RCMP.
The minister will meet with local Indigenous and community leaders to learn more about how the RCMP can best serve the region.
She will also meet with representatives of the town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, where public safety and security concerns have dominated discussion for years.
