A couple hundred Delta Air Lines passengers had an unexpected layover in St. John’s last night.

The flight, en route to Rome from JFK, declared an emergency over the Atlantic due to an engine issue.

The plane landed safely at St. John’s International just after 11:00.

Delta is sending another aircraft from New York to pickup the stranded passengers.
