It’s going to be a wet couple of days for the south coast of the island.
A rainfall warning is in effect for Burgeo and Ramea with rainfall rates of up to 10 to 15 mm an hour possible according to Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil.
“With this type of air mass, very, very humid, you could see some of those heavier pockets that could produce those double-digit rainfall amounts in an hour”
“That comes down quite heavily, you start to see water pooling on roads quite quickly. It could make for some tricky driving.”
A severe weather warning is in place for Burgeo and Ramea while a special weather statement is in effect for other portions of the south coast including Port aux Basques and Marystown.
