The Prime Minister will be right on our southern doorstep this coming weekend trying to strengthen partnerships between Canada and France.

Mark Carney will be in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon on Sunday to meet with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

He says they will discuss deepening the partnership between the two countries in strategic sectors including aerospace, energy and critical minerals, and advanced technologies such as quantum, satellites, and supercomputing.

Last year, bilateral trade between Canada and France totalled $15.2-billion with Canadian exports to France valued at $5-billion and imports at $10.2-billion.

Carney says at this pivotal time in history, Canada is working to deepen and expand the relationship with France across AI, critical minerals and energy.
