The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation’s new store on Topsail Road will open early next year.

The NLC released its financial performance for the first quarter of the 2026-2027 fiscal year yesterday.

It says the lease agreement for the new location, which is located inside the old Walmart building, has been finalized, and the store will open in the fourth quarter of the fiscal – which would be within the first few months of 2027.

The NLC has also awarded an RFP for a new store in Placentia – which is slated to open soon.

Meanwhile, several new cannabis retailers are set to open throughout the province.

Earlier this year the NLC issued a call for up to 15 new stores in rural and underserved communities. It says “several” of those stores are expected to open in the third quarter of the fiscal – meaning either later this year or early next.
